Laure E. Biron
LSW, MSS, MLSP, MFA
How I Work:
I specialize in working with leaders and those juggling multiple areas of responsibility, including board dynamics, childcare, family responsibilities, and aging parents.
With over a decade of leadership experience, I’m intimately familiar with the intense pressure of bearing that weight alone, as well as the complex balancing act many professionals navigate between their work and home lives.
My style of therapy is psychodynamic and analytic, centered around leveraging strengths and understanding challenges to find better patterns and more self awareness and self efficacy.
More About Me
-
I hold a Pennsylvania license in social work and two Masters degrees from Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, one in Social Service with a clinical focus, and one in Legal and Social Policy.
I also have a Masters in Fine Art from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and nearly two decades of experience developing and implementing innovative and evidence-based therapeutic arts programming.
-
I have provided therapy through private practice since 2012, and I’ve conducted psychoeducational workshops on a range of topics, including anti-bias training and adult sexuality.
With more than a decade of leadership experience, I’m intimately familiar with the stressors of fundraising, board management, and team development, and the intense pressure of bearing that weight alone—not to mention the complex balancing act many professionals navigate between their work and home lives.
-
My clients need and deserve a nonjudgmental space for discussing sensitive topics that come up in their personal relationships and work lives, including misogyny, racism, imposter syndrome, burnout, maternal penalty, double binds, privilege, and microaggressions.
I also strive to foster a welcoming environment for clients in the LGBTQ+, Polyamory & ENM, Sex-Positive & Kink Friendly communities, and I maintain an ongoing commitment to professional-development training in these areas.
