Client FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

I provide out-of-network services, meaning I do not bill insurance companies directly. However, if you’d like to explore the possibility of reimbursement from your insurance provider, I can provide a detailed receipt, called a superbill. It’s best to call your insurance provider directly to inquire if this is a viable option for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require at least 24 hours notice for all cancellations. Notifications made less than 24 hours before an appointment will result in the full cost of the session.

How long does therapy typically take?

This depends entirely on your personal goals and needs. We can work together for a long time on a series of goals, or for a shorter period of time on one comprehensive goal.

What is the session fee?

My rate is $175 for an individual 50-minute session. Payments can be made online by credit or debit card. Before we begin, I offer a free 15-minute initial phone consultation.

What is the first session like?

We’ll spend our first session discussing what brings you to therapy, what goals you have for our work together, and your personal history. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask me questions and to assess if I feel like the right fit for your therapeutic needs.

Is everything I say in therapy confidential?

What you say to me in therapy is confidential, excluding a few important exceptions. If there is a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, or suspicion of child, elder, or dependent adult abuse, I am required to break confidentiality. We can review those scenarios in our initial appointment.

How will we meet?

I offer telehealth video sessions with all clients through a HIPAA-compliant platform called Sessions Health, which is easily accessible from a computer, phone, or tablet.

How frequently will we meet?

I often meet with clients weekly at the outset and reassess frequency as needed.

What meeting platform do you use?

The platform I employ, Sessions Health, runs directly in your browser using a peer-to-peer connection, with audio and video streaming directly between our devices. Visit the Sessions Health website for more information.
